Description:

Obtained from Gaglioppo, Magliocco, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grapes, in vineyards grown in the area of the small village of Carfizzi, 300 meters above sea level.

Grape variety:  Gaglioppo, Magliocco, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.
Production area:  Calabria, central-eastern part of the province of Crotone, in Carfizzi locality “Motta – Maradea”.
Soil: white clay.
Altimetry: from 200 to 300 meters above sea level.
Training system: espalier with a density of 5600 plants per hectare.
Climate: Mediterranean, with mild winters and hot, dry summers.
Harvest: manual at the end of October.
Yield per hectare of grapes: 45 – 50 quintals.
Winemaking: traditional fermentation with maceration for 10 – 15 days, racking, soft malolactic pressing in steel.
Maturation: passage for 15 months in new French oak barriques.
Aging: two months in bottle at controlled temperature.
Tasting:
Color – purple red with evident violet reflections.
Perfume - intense, with fruity, sweet and ripe hints, balsamic and floral notes of violet on a light tobacco accent at the end.
Flavor – warm and velvety, wine that shows great structure to the taste and notable personality. The alcohol blends into the soft tannin in a convincing balance

Gastronomic pairing: it goes well with meat-based dishes and mature cheeses.
